ACADEMIC AFFILIATION AND CREDIT
Ardeo Theatre Project programs are developed in association with Westminster
College. Participants wishing to receive college credit for their
time with Ardeo can enroll in Westminster College as temporary or transfer
students and receive up to sixteen credits for the spring and fall terms.
Some federal financial aid is transferable as well.
APPLICATIONS
Applications are processed on a rolling admissions basis. Enrollment at
Ardeo is limited. Qualifying students will be notified of acceptance when
their completed application has been approved. Ardeo accepts applications
for each of the four upcoming terms. To apply, please return a completed
application to Ardeo Theatre Project PO Box 23355 Seattle, WA 98102. You
can also apply online.
FINANCIAL AID
Students receiving federal assistance can normally apply it toward study
abroad programs. Aid packages such as Pell Grants, Supplemental Educational
Opportunity Grants (SEOG), Perkins Loans, Stafford Loans, Supplemental
Loans for Students (SLS) and Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS)
may be used to cover costs of Ardeo programs. Likewise, some state programs
allow students to transfer aid toward international studies. Your own
school may also offer aid that applies; consult the financial aid officer
at your school for a list of financial aid options.
In addition, Ardeo offers a limited amount of need and merit based assistance.
If you would like more information, please contact Ardeo's Admissions
Director Cecelia Frye at cecelia@ardeo.org.
For financial aid resources on the Web, you may find these sites to be
helpful: the Institute

Department of Education.
TRAVEL PLANNING
Passports
All U.S. citizens must have a passport valid until 3 months after the
last date of their stay in France. If you plan to travel within France
after the last date of the program, please include that period when calculating
validity dates. If you do not have a valid passport, obtaining one can
take a few weeks, so make sure you give yourself enough time. You may
apply for a passport at many local government and U.S. post offices. Passport
information is available on the Web at the U.S.
State Department site.
Visas
You should not need a "Long Stay Student Visa" unless you plan
to travel within France for 30 days before or after your Ardeo program.
Contact Ardeo for information if you believe you may need a student visa.
Medical Insurance
All students are required to have medical insurance before leaving the
country. Ardeo does not provide this coverage; however, travel insurance
is accepted as valid coverage and is readily available through most travel
and insurance agencies. Council
Travel is a good resource for student travelers. You may also check
with your university's student services department or your health insurance
provider to see if you are covered.
Getting to St. Julien l'Ars
If you are flying into Paris, you can board a high-speed train (the legendary
TGV) directly to Poitiers from Charles de Gaulle airport, or from the
Gare Montparnasse in the city center. If you are coming to Ardeo from
other locations in France or Europe, check with your travel agent for
the most convenient option. Poitiers is on a main train route and is easily
accessible from other European cities. Ardeo staff will pick you up at
the Poitiers train station for the short ride to the château.
