Ibarra Covered in Prayer
The foundation of all we do in Extreme is prayer. When our short term teams come on the field, it's no different. Last year about a quarter of the time that our short term teams spent in ministry, was spent in prayer. We have a great group of college students in Ibarra right now, who spent yesterday covering the city in prayer.
Prayer does not equip us for greater works— prayer is the greater work. - Oswald Chambers
They (mostly) arrived late Wednesday night. (One student was delayed and arrived last night.) Thursday morning, they began their day with Orientation then split up into groups and spread out over the city of Ibarra to cover the city and their ministry time in prayer.
During the Prayer Adventure, they stopped at several locations around the city, praying, reflecting and soaking up the environment God has called them to for the next couple of weeks.
In the evening, the team attended the fasting service at the church. The Short Term Missionaries were put into groups with the Ibarrenos to pray, specifically for the Casas de Oración (Houses of Prayer in home Bible studies).
One of the new leaders gave the message during the service. It was his first time to preach. The leader has been praying that the first time he preaches, the church would be full. Because of the regular attendance plus the short term team, the church was packed!
They finished off the night preparing for upcoming events by sorting ministry supplies and practicing for the drama they'll present in a few days.
Please lift this team up in prayer, God is moving in Ibarra and will move in mighty ways while this team is serving alongside the Ibarra Church Planting team.
