Ibarra Saturday: A Glowing Beacon in the City

Saturday, May 23rd, began with prayer from 5am-6am focusing on the teens and young adults of the church in Ibarra an the city as a whole.
.
The morning was spent preparing for our event for the evening.  Some went and distributed raffle tickets (free of charge) for boxes filled with nonperishable food items.  Others rehearsed skits and songs to do as a part of the program.
.
The afternoon included more time to distribute raffle tickets and flyers for the church. At about 5pm, we began our event in Parque Los Ceibos, not far from the house of the Extreme missionaries here in in Ibarra.
.
We had songs and games for kids, several skits done by the short-termers, and the giving of the baskets.  We already had the stage rented for the concert after the color run, and we had glow sticks as well, so we did the program from the stage and gave out the glow sticks once it got dark.
.
From the event, we gained 252 contacts for the missionaries and leaders of the church to followup on.  We also made a very significant impact in that part of the city.
.
Dinner was after the event.  Most of the team didn’t get back to the hotel until 10:30pm or later.  It was a long, but very good, day.
